Gold, cash burgled from Srinagar bride

SRINAGAR, Nov 2: Gold worth lakhs of rupees and 30000 cash was took away by burglars from newly married couple in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar on October 30 during the night.
The burglars barged into the house of Umar Ahmad husband of Sabreena on October 30 night at Ganai Mohalla Pantha Chowk and took away cash and jewellery at gun point.
“Three men barged into our house and kept knives on my throat. They kept a pistol on the head of my mother in law. They also kept pistol on the head of my husband and asked him to lift the front portion of our bed where I had kept my Jewellery. They threatened us with death,” Sabreena said.
“We had no choice than to give them all the gold that my father and my in-laws had given to me on my marriage day. The thieves also took away cash worth Rs 30,000,” she added.
She urged Srinagar police investigate the case on priority.
“I can recognise the face of one thief who had no mask on his face. Other two were wearing a face mask,” Sabreena said.
