AMRITSAR, June 16:
The Customs department has seized gold worth Rs 47.45 lakh from a passenger at the Shri Guru Ramdas ji International Airport here.
In a statement issued here on Friday, a Customs official said the passenger, who came from Sharjah, was intercepted on Thursday evening.
During his search, three white capsules, weighing around 1,072 grams, were found hidden inside his rectum. Around 778 grams of gold was recovered from these capsules, the official said.
Further investigation is underway, the official said. (PTI)
