JAMMU, Sept 25: Gujjar Nagar police worked out a theft case and arrested three thieves including a goldsmith along with stolen items.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gujjar Nagar police post conducted raid in Samba District and nabbed three thieves, who were involved in a burglary case in the house of Mohammad Shafi at Shaheedi Chowk area few days back.
The accused have been identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Roshan Ali, a resident of West Bengal, at present Samba, Ajit Kumar, son of Tirth Ram, a resident of Janipur and Deepak Kumar (goldsmith), son of Ramesh Chander, a resident of Vijaypur.
Police recovered 5 tolas gold, Rs 850 cash, artificial jewellery, silver ornaments and a scooty, which was stolen from the house of Mohammad Shafi.
The main accused in this theft case identified as Nizamudin of West Bengal is still at large and hunt is going on to nab him.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Gujjar Nagar police post SI Shamim Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Peer Mitha Inspector Javed Malik, SDPO City Vivek Shekhar Sharma and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
