Rafiabad, Nov 8: Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today said Congress is determined to ensure equitable development of all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir. “Congress party’s main focus is to develop Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh equitably.  Congress Party’s has always advocated balanced and equitable development of all three regions as it strengthens the bonds of unity and integrity of the State”, Mr Vakil said.
Cautioning the people about the communal and divisive forces in the state, Vakil said that Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have to stay together and people should understand the designs of such forces and strengthen secularism, unity and integrity of the state. Mr. Vakil was addressing a public meeting at Pazalpora Rafiabad in district Baramulla.
While addressing the gathering Mr. Vakil described the political situation in general in the State as quiet fluid where good governance, transparency and accountability are missing from the scene and in particular the administration at the District level is behaving like a mute spectator rather than coming forward for addressing the grievances of the common masses”. He said that many far flung and remote areas of the State have been neglected completely. Despite liberal financial assistance pouring in from Centre and various other Centrally sponsored schemes people are continuing to feel suppressed and deprived of even the minimum basic facilities” he said, adding that many remote areas of the State were still without water, electricity, health facilities, road networks and education.
