JAMMU, May 14: Goods worth lakhs got gutted when a major fire broke out today in a hardware store here.
As per police sources, fire broke out this afternoon inside Pawan Hardware Store in Jewel area. The fire gradually engulfed the entire shop and it spread fast due to the burning of oil paints and other fluids, chemicals.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and fire fighters were pressed in to douse the flames.
After hectic efforts of several hours, the fire was brought under control, but till then the goods worth lakhs got completely damaged in the fire.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained.
A case in this regard has been registered and the matter is being investigated.
