Government fails in digitization of land records

Srinagar, May 28: The Government today admitted that induction of workforce into the newly created units has affected the functioning of Settlement Organisation thereby denting the implementation of Digital India Land Records Modernisation programme (DILRMP)
In a written reply to a question of MLA, M. Y. Tarigami in Lower House, Minister Incharge Revenue said it was a fact that Vide Govt. Order No. Rev-17 of July 2014 by corresponding reduction/ redeployment/ adjustment of the staff working in the settlement organisation was adjusted in the newly created units thereby, affecting the functioning of the settlement organisation adversely.
“The digitization of land records in the state has been outsourced to M/s Ramtech Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Till date and the service provider has scanned 96737 documents and 3362 Maps/Massavies and  Efforts are being made to successfully implement DILRMP,” he said.
The Minister further stated that an area of 64543 Kanals and11 Marlas has been transferred to occupants under the J&K State lands Act in the State. Out of which land measuring 45015 Kanals and 09 marlas in respect of Jammu district and land measuring 327 Kanals and 12 Marlas in Srinagar District which includes Jammu/ Srinagar cities have also been transferred under Act, he added.
