SRINAGAR, Oct 3: The J&K National Conference general secretary, Ali Mohd Sagar has said that the present administration of Jammu and Kashmir has completely failed to provide basic facilities and essential services to the people.
“The tyranny of non-local bureaucrats has proved fatal to the people here as they are constantly unable to perform their duties and responsibilities,” Sagar said this while addressing a meeting at the party headquarters today.
District president Srinagar Pir Afaq Ahmed, Women Wing Provincial president Sabia Qadri and other officials were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the participants of the meeting highlighted the problems and difficulties of the people of their respective areas before the general secretary. The party general secretary directed the party functionaries to voice public grievances at all appropriate forums for their speedy redressal.
The meeting mostly focussed on the threadbare discussions on shortage of electricity, ration crisis, prolonged power outages, inflation, unemployment and spur in drug menace.
Addressing the meeting, Sagar said although the current rulers have been making loud claims about ensuring steady supply of basic utility services but the ground situation is completely contrary to such claims.
” Erratic power supply has particularly become norm of the day. No schedule is being followed. It was claimed that power steady power supply will be ensured through out the winter. Let alone ensuring availability of power supply during winter, government is not able to ensure adequate power supply at the very onset of winter. People only receive hefty bills, but when it’s comes to ensuring adequate power supply, government turns volte face,” he added.
Sagar said that all the claims of development and prosperity by the government are smoke screen to hide their failures on every front.
