JAMMU, Mar 13: N. N. Vohra, Governor, has appointed Roma Wani, former Special Secretary, Planning and Development Department, J&K Government, as Honorary General Secretary, J&K State Branch of Indian Red Cross Society.
The Governor, who is the President of Indian Red Cross Society, J&K State Branch, has made the appointment of Ms. Wani for a period of two years in the initial instance, from the date she assumes the charge. She replaces Feroze Ahmad, the Honorary General Secretary, who had completed his tenure.
Ms. Wani, a former KAS officer, has remained closely associated with the Girl Guides movement in Jammu and Kashmir and has exhibited tremendous enthusiasm for voluntary work and missionary activities.
