SRINAGAR, Sept 21: Dr Anayat Mir, Chief Warden, Civil Defence Organization, Baramulla, called on N N Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan, here today.
Dr. Mir briefed the Governor about the activities of the Civil Defence Organization and the training programmes being organized in Baramulla to train the youth in disaster management and first-aid. He also informed the Governor about the activities and interactions which are regularly organized for enlarging awareness of youth about the disastrous consequences of drug addiction. He is also running drug de-addiction centres.
The Governor appreciated Dr. Mir’s various initiatives and suggested that the largest possible number of youth should be involved in the activities of the Civil Defence Organization and, besides, the maximum number of boys and girls should be made aware of the prevailing social evils, particularly drug addiction.
The Governor assured support to Dr. Mir’s missionary endeavours to build a healthy society.
