Governor, CM greet people on Buddha Purnima

SRINAGAR, May 13: Governor, N N Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today greeted the people on Buddha Purnima, sincerely hoping that the auspicious occasion would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor described Lord Buddha as an apostle of peace whose message of ahimsa and non-violence assumes much greater relevance today when the world is faced with growing intolerance, violence and terrorism.
The Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
In his greetings message, Omar Abdullah reminded the people of the State’s rich tradition of celebrating holy occasion in unity and amity. “All of us should contribute to further strengthen this trait”, he said and added that such occasions provide us opportunity to fortify love bonds between one another and nurture communal harmony and brotherhood.
The Chief Minister prayed for peace, prosperity and progress of the State and the Country.
