Governor, CM greet people on Eid-ul-Azha

SRINAGAR, Sept 12: Governor N  N Vohra has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and prayed for their well-being and prosperity.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor has hoped that this festival would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, amity, and revive the glorious pluralistic ethos for which Jammu and Kashmir has been known for centuries past.
The Governor prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has also extended greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, wishing them peace, well-being and prosperity.
In her message on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha, Mehbooba said the holy occasion of Eid-ul-Azha imbibes in us the spirit of making honesty and truthfulness a way of life. “The holy occasion also teaches us to maintain high principles of selfless service to the Almighty Allah and the humanity,” she added.
She said Eid is also a day on which we need to remember the deceased, visit the sick, see relatives and friends, overlook grudges, help the needy and show kindness and generosity to all. Overcoming the common grievances against each other that prevent our mutual co-existence is the ultimate spirit of sacrifice and is also a day for reaching out to the needy, she added.
She expressed hope that this auspicious day will further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, mutual brotherhood, amity, and tranquility. She said as Kashmir is going through a painful situation, we need to reach out to those who have suffered immense human tragedies and financial losses. “Let us strive to lessen the pain and sufferings of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” she said.
The Chief Minister prayed for sustained peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
