JAMMU, Mar 20: Governor N. N. Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Nauroz.
In a message of felicitations, the Governor observed that this festival has high cultural and religious significance. He said that this important day is also observed as World Arbour Day and appealed that one and all should join hands in planting the maximum number of trees for preserving our rapidly deteriorating environment.
The Governor hoped that this auspicious day would be the harbinger of sustained peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message, Omar Abdullah expressed the hope that the day will herald a new era of peace and progress in the State.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the significance of March 21 as the World Arbour Day and called for massive plantation across the State on this day.
The Chief Minister also prayed for peace, progress and development of the State and the country.
