Governor, CM greet people on Navratras

JAMMU, Oct 4: N. N. Vohra, Governor and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today  greeted the people on the commencement of holy Navratras and prayed for communal harmony, brotherhood, peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In the greeting messages, the Governor and the CM said that the Navratras have an added significance in Jammu and Kashmir as, during this period, the Holy Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji attracts a very large number of pilgrims from all parts of the country.
They said that the commencement of the Navratras is also marked by the beginning of a grand Festival at Katra. This Festival, interalia, showcases the glorious traditions of the composite cultural ethos of the State.
They prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
