JAMMU, Dec 2: Governor N.N. Vohra has greeted the people on the occasion of “International Day of Persons with Disabilities”.
In his message, the Governor has conveyed that the observance of this day aims to promote better understanding of disability issues and for mobilizing support to enhance the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
Governor noted that a society is known by the manner in which it treats children, women, elders and the disabled and hoped that our society, which is founded in tolerance and compassionate values, would vigorously strive for establishing an inclusive and equitable environment which specially cares for all persons with disabilities.
He urged that special efforts should be made to ensure that persons with disabilities are meaningfully involved in every sphere of activity.
