Governor greets people on Navratras

SRINAGAR, Oct 15: N N Vohra, Governor, has greeted the people on the commencement of holy Navratras and prayed for communal harmony, brotherhood, peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In a message of greetings, the Governor said that the Navratras have an added significance in Jammu and Kashmir as, during this period, the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji attracts a very large number of pilgrims from all parts of the country.
The Governor said that the commencement of the Navratras is also marked by the beginning of a grand Festival at Katra, the base town for the commencement of the trek to the Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji Shrine. This Festival, interalia, showcases the glorious traditions of the composite cultural ethos of the State.
The Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State on this occasion.
