Governor greets people on Navratras

 

JAMMU: Governor N N Vohra today greeted people of the State on the commencement of holy Navratras.

The Governor also prayed for communal harmony, brotherhood, peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

In a message, the Governor said the Navratras have an added significance in the State as, during this period, the Holy Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi attracts a very large number of pilgrims from all parts of the country.

“The commencement of the Navratras is also marked by the beginning of a grand festival at Katra, the base town for the commencement of the trek to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine,” he said.

This festival, showcases the glorious traditions of the composite cultural ethos of the State, said the Governor.

On this auspicious occasion, the Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State. (AGENCIES)
