Governor inaugurates community hall, releases ‘Raghvinder Panchang’

JAMMU, Apr 13: Governor N. N. Vohra, inaugurated a community hall at the Bawa Kailakh Dev Temple Complex at Thathar, Bantalab, today. This hall has been constructed by the devotees of Bawa Kailakh Devji by raising contributions.
The Governor also released “Raghvinder Panchang” on the occasion at a function organized by the Prabandhak Committee, Bawa Kailakh Dev Temple.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor lauded the initiative of the people for raising contributions for construction of a spacious hall in the Complex, observing that they have set a very good example of joining hands for promoting the welfare of the society at large.
Referring to the “Raghvinder Panchang”, the Governor observed that it is a very important document in our society, culture and our day-to-day lives. He complimented Dr. Chander Mauli Raina for bringing out this almanac.
The Governor referred to the various development-oriented demands of the people of the area presented by Bharat Bhushan, MLA, particularly the need for augmenting water supply in this belt and said he would address the concerned authorities in this matter.
The Prabandhak Committee of the Bawa Kailakh Dev Temple honoured the Governor by presenting to him a memento.
Earlier, on reaching the Bawa Kailakh Dev Temple Complex, the Governor was received by the functionaries and members of the Prabandhak Committee, Bawa Kailakh Dev Temple, amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras, by the Sanskrit scholars.
Bharat Bhushan, MLA, speaking on the occasion, presented development-oriented demands and problems of the people, which included, augmenting water supply in the area and 4-laning of Jammu-Akhnoor road.
Rampal Sharma, President, Prabandhak Committee, Bawa Kailakh Dev Temple, presented a vote of thanks.
Among those present on the occasion were K. K. Sharma, Director Floriculture, Jammu, Dr. Chander Mauli Raina, Sarpanchs, Panchs, prominent citizens and a large number of people.
