SRINAGAR, May 30: Governor N N Vohra today inaugurated “Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) Youth Conference-2016”.
This three day conference, which is being held at Green Valley Educational Institute, Buchpora, Srinagar, will simulate discussions on India’s quest for a permanent seat in United Nations Security Council and, besides, trigger debate on important local, regional and national issues.
Usha Vohra, First Lady was present on the occasion.
Lauding the efforts of IIMUN, which is academic simulation of the UN, the Governor observed that this educative forum is doing a commendable job in providing a responsible medium for the youth to put forth their ideas, visions and perceptions and shaping them into future leaders of society.
The Governor suggested that such forums should be simulated to provide an opportunity to our youth to play the role of legislators and parliamentarians to understand, discuss and evolve solutions of the serious and complex problems being faced at the State and national levels.
Complimenting the school management for providing their students with an opportunity to voice their opinions in a meaningful way, the Governor observed that educating our youth through such practical initiatives would go a long way in enabling our youth to develop as our future leaders. He wished the participants successful deliberations.
