SRINAGAR, June 17: Governor N.N. Vohra, Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), had an extensive interactive session with 21 State Civil and Police officers who have been designated to take over as Camp Directors and Additional Camp Directors to manage the Yatra Camps in the entire Shrine area.
For managing this year’s Yatra, 24 serving Civil and Police officers are being deployed to supervise Yatra Camps located at Nunwan, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panjtarni, Holy Cave, Sangam, Domel and Baltal.
During his discussions with the Camp Directors, the Governor advised them to personally inspect each and every arrangement which is being made at the Camps which they have been allotted to supervise and, besides, on the tracks within their charge. He directed them to particularly ensure effective sanitary arrangements, cleanliness of toilets, effective collection and removal of garbage to the identified dumps and ensure the pilgrims convenience with special attention to ensuring adequate water and electricity supplies and provision of round the clock health care facilities.
The Governor exhorted the officers to maintain perfect coordination with the District Civil and Police Authorities and with all the concerned State Government departments and agencies for ensuring the smooth conduct of the Yatra. He further directed them to ensure strict enforcement of all prescribed regulations to ensure the safety of the pilgrims, particularly if there was any decline in the weather conditions.
The Governor directed the officers to provide all required assistance to the pilgrims and enable them to complete their Yatra without facing any avoidable difficulty. He reiterated that no Yatri who did not possess a Health Certificate and valid Registration should be allowed to cross the Access Control Gates at Chandanwari and Domail.
The CEO, P.K. Tripathi, informed the Governor that in the past two days the Camp Directors and Additional Camp Directors had been briefed on all important aspects of their roles and responsibilities for Yatra 2015 and that all of them shall leave for their Camps on June 19, 2015 morning.
The Governor urged the Camp Directors to maintain round the clock contact with the Shrine Board Control Room and with the other Camps to ensure that any arising problem is resolved without any delay whatsoever.
