Governor must ask BJP-PDP to prove majority on floor of House: Harsh

JAMMU, Jan 7:   Former minister and NPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh today said that  with the BJP MLAs and MLCs protesting inside the legislature and its other party leaders sulking outside and criticizing their own Ministers, no further evidence of the collapse of Saffron juggernaut in the State was required.
Talking to media-persons here today, Singh said that vociferous protests by the MLAs and MLCs of the ruling party symbolized not only the anger and distrust of Legislators in their own Govt but was further indicative of the peoples’ contempt and revulsion against the misrule of the saffron brigade.
Pointing towards the outbursts of the three BJP Legislators against their own Govt inside the legislature, Singh said that it was not merely a case of simple protests but amounted to lack of confidence in the Govt. Never before had the ruling party Legislators resorted to such aggression inside the legislature to express their disapproval of the policies and decisions of their own Govt. He said that the revolt by three Legislators was only a tip of the iceberg with majority of the ruling party members, nursing identical feelings and grudges against the Govt. The coalition appeared to have been reduced to minority necessitating a confidence vote inside the Assembly and intervention of  Governor,  Harsh Dev said.
Describing the events in the Legislative Assembly and Council as merely a beginning of revolt against the anti- Jammu polices of the BJP Ministers, Singh observed that pubic pressure would further induce and force all other Jammu based Legislators to ventilate their anger against the cowardly posturing of the power hungry and corrupt rulers of their party. He said that Jammu Ministers having lost their connect with the masses, the Legislators were bearing the brunt of public resentment.
NPP leader regretted that none of the BJP Legislators came forward in support of its MLC Ajat Shatru Singh who raised the issue of declaration of holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday. It was amazing to see those loud mouthed BJP Ministers and Legislators, hiding their faces in the legislature, who with all their exaggerated dissonance would make haughty claims of declaring  September 23 as holiday at all costs, Singh added.
