Governor releases brochure about Do’s and Don’ts

JAMMU, Feb 4 : N N Vohra, Governor, who is Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, released a brochure brought out by the Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Tourism Development Cooperative Ltd. (JKLTDC), Jammu and Kashmir, at Raj Bhavan, here today.
This brochure, listing Do’s and Don’ts for the intending pilgrims, has been brought out by the JKLTDC with a view to enlarging awareness among the Yatris about the various aspects of the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra, including the terrain and topography, and the precautions to be taken during the pilgrimage. This year’s Yatra commences on June 28, 2013.
Interacting with a delegation of the JKLTDC on this occasion, the Governor lauded their initiative of bringing out the brochure, which would serve as a useful guide for the pilgrims. He observed that such literature could be usefully made available at the Yatra Registration Counters across the country for the benefit of the intending pilgrims.
Rajesh Gupta, Chairman, JKLTDC, briefed the Governor about the activities of this organization and the aims and objects of bringing out the brochure. He said that the JKLTDC volunteers will also provide free assistance to the Yatris and support during healthcare emergencies, hospitalization assistance and attendants at various locations.
The 9-member delegation comprised Syed Sajjad Madni, Gurmit Singh, Asif Iqbal, B. B. Kotwal, Rajinder Singh Kotwal, Shujahat Madni, Ajay Kumar Mahajan and Sudhir Gulati.
Navin K. Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, was present on the occasion.
