Governor releases “The Men Who Served J&K”

SRINAGAR, June 16: At a function held at the Raj Bhavan here today Governor N.N. Vohra released Dr. S.S. Bloeria’s “The Men Who Served Jammu and Kashmir”.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Bloeria, former Chief Secretary, explained that his book contains his memories of twenty one of his colleagues, both juniors and seniors in the civil and police services, who served during the very difficult years which J&K has seen in the past and those who displayed stubborn tenacity of purpose. He has written the tales of their valor, sacrifice and commitment.
Some of the officers, serving and retired, present on the ocassion about whom Dr. Bloeria has written in  his book, included Mehmood-ur-Rehman, B.R. Sharma, Bharat Bhushan Vyas, Shaleen Kabra, G.A. Peer, Manzoor Bhat, Mumtaz Afzal and D.N Trisal.
The Governor observed that Dr. Bloeria’s look back on the events during the turbulent period in J&K and the officers on whom he has written, would be of immense interest to academics, political analysts and commentators, researchers, historians and the lay reader.
The welcome address on the occasion was given by Brig. P.K. Vij (Retd.) Publisher of the Book.
