SRINAGAR, May 19: Governor, N.N Vohra, who is Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the forthcoming Yatra, which is scheduled to commence on July 2, 2015.
The review meeting was attended by P.K. Tripathi, Principal Secretary to Governor and Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board; Jitendra Singh, Addl. CEO; Dy. CEOs; General Manager (Works) and other concerned officers.
After the review, the Governor observed that while most of the arrangements are being made within the earlier fixed time lines it was necessary for sustained publicity being carried out to caution the pilgrims about the do’s and don’ts of the Yatra, so that every pilgrim prepares to be physically fit before embarking on this arduous pilgrimage. It is also necessary that, to avoid inconvenience on arrival, every pilgrim obtains Yatra Registration after furnishing a Medical Certificate of physical fitness.
The Governor, who had travelled to Baltal last Sunday to inspect the road condition and the ongoing preparatory work at the Yatra Camp site, will be visiting Nunwan and Chandanwari later this month, besides undertaking an aerial survey of the entire Yatra area on May 30, 2015, during which he will have meetings at Holy Cave, Panjtarni and Sheshnag.
