Governor reviews arrangements for Indian Science Congress

JAMMU, Nov 21: N. N. Vohra, Governor, reviewed the arrangements being put in place for the 101st session of the Indian Science Congress being held at the University of Jammu from February 3 to 7, 2014, at a meeting held at Raj Bhavan, here this afternoon.
Prof. R. C. Sobti, Vice Chancellor, Baba Saheb Ambedkar University, Lucknow and the General President, Indian Science Congress Association; Prof. M. P. S. Ishar, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University; and Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor, briefed Mr Vohra about the to-date status of the varied arrangements being made for the Science Congress. Before meeting the Governor, all three of them had held an extensive review meeting with Prof. Ishar and his concerned Faculty.
The Governor, who is Chancellor of the University of Jammu, emphasized the need for putting in place all the required arrangements well in time for the forthcoming Indian Science Congress for organizing this first ever mega scientific event in the State in a most befitting manner.
He observed that the progress on various aspects and components of the arrangements being made for the Indian Science Congress is required to be regularly reviewed and monitored so that all logistics and other facilities are timely positioned. He observed that all the stakeholders need to join hands for organizing this Science Congress, adding that it will provide a historical opportunity for the students, teachers and scientists to demonstrate their talent and scientific temper.
