SRINAGAR, July 22: Governor N.N. Vohra, Chancellor of the State Universities, Central University of Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra, reviewed the outcome of the on-campus recruitment drives conducted in all the universities in J&K during the past six months, from January 1 – June 30.
In Jammu University during the period from January 1, 2016 to July 1, 2016, 9 Campus recruitment drives were conducted in which 29 students were hired by Welspun-I, ITC-3, Baldota Group-3, Wopro-8, Axis Bank etc.
Kashmir University during the period from January 1, 2016 to March 31, 2016, 03 recruitment drives were carried out in which 40 candidates from the disciplines of BE, B. Tech, (ECE & IT streams only), BCA, MCA, BSC (CS and Electronics) BSC IT, MSC IT, BBA/MBA were selected by Yes Bank, Rooman Tech., Ligare etc.
In the only recruitment drive conducted in SKUAST-J during the first quarter of 2016, 04 students of PG-PBG, Pathology and Agriculture were selected by IFFCO.
In the only recruitment drive carried out in Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora during the period from January 1, 2016 to May 25, 2016, 18 candidates with MBA/MBA (IB), were selected by YES Consultancy.
As far as Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSB), Rajouri is concerned, in three (03) on- campus drives conducted during the period from January 1, 2016 to March 31, 2016, 161 candidates from the MBA/BBA, B.Tech, Diploma, MA (English), MSc. (Math), M.Sc. (Botany) & M.Sc. (Zoology) streams were selected by Balaji Industries, Reinventing Pros Ltd., Accenture, Algol, Ligure Voyages, Multicare, NISA, Surya Wires, Appolo Skills, IL&FS, CIPET, ORION Secure etc.
In Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, 12 on- campus drives conducted during the period from January 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016 and 60 candidates from the streams of MBA, B.Tech. (CSE, ECE) were selected by Axis Bank, Orange Business Services, Deals Now Jammu, Pompeii Technologies, RVS IT Ltd., HDFC Bank, ITC Ltd., Water Health India Pvt. Ltd., Kent RO Systems Ltd. etc.
Under “UDAAN”, the Special Industry Initiative (SII) for J&K from January 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016, 5,671 selections were made by various private sector companies against which 4,912 candidates joined; 5,003 completed their training of whom 2,714 received placement orders.
