Governor reviews redeployment of teaching staff

Jammu, Feb 6: Governor, N.N. Vohra today reviewed the to-date status of his earlier direction regarding the cancellation of all “attachments” of teachers, all over the State, and the redeployment of Government teaching staff.
The School Education Department informed that out of 2307 attached teaching staff, 1483 have already reported and joined their original places of posting in Jammu Division. In Kashmir Division, 688 out of 710 attached teachers have reported and joined their respective places of postings. 56 lecturers who had reported back after completing their tenure in Ladakh and were awaiting posting orders for the past 6 months have also been given postings.
The Raj Bhavan spokesperson disclosed that the Governor has directed that the posting orders in respect of the remaining 738 teachers in Jammu Division, and 20 in Kashmir Division, who are still awaiting adjustments, must be issued latest by February 9,2015.
The Raj Bhavan spokesperson recalled that the decision regarding “de-atachment” had been taken after the Governor had expressed serious concern about the serious adverse effect of such an approach on the smooth functioning of schools in the far flung areas, when most of the teachers had been “attached” in urban areas.
