Governor urged to give time bound period to parties for Govt formation

JAMMU, Dec 31: Expressing serious concern over the delay in formation of Government in the State, J&K Samajwadi Party urged Governor NN Vohra to give time bound period to the parties to come up with a solution failing which Governor’s rule need to be clamped as the public is suffering badly and administration stands paralyzed.
“Due to delay in formation of Government, the whole administrative machinery has come to a halt magnifying the miseries and hardships of the general masses”, said party president and Ex-MP, Shiekh Abdul Rehman while addressing a meeting of party workers that was held today to discus at length the pre and post-election scenario in the State.
Exhorting upon about a dozen party leaders who contested and could not make it, Rehman said today when the whole situation was polarized by the communal parties, we should not lose heart and get demoralized, rather we should rise to the occasion and stick to the cherished principles of true secularism, equality, justice and real Samajwad as propagated by Dr Ram Manohar Lohia.
He said that the recent elections have caused a complete communal and regional divide in J&K which is very dangerous and harmful for communal harmony and integrity of the State in view of sensitivity and political scenario of the State.
The party resolved to call up on the intellectuals, thinkers, writers, advocates and professors to ponder over the situation and come out with a solution so that the greatest democracy of the world is not hijacked by the corporate world in connivance with communal forces in the country.
In another resolution, the meeting observed that though six months have passed since the Central Government was formed but nothing is visible on ground in the name of development.
Those who participated in the meeting include Amrit Varsha, Mahila Wing president, Ram Singh Chouhan, Bashir Ahmed Kousar, Sheikh Mohd Shafi, Pushpa Dogra, Gulzar Ahmed Bangroo, Mohd Amin and others.
