Governor visits Dastageer Sahib shrine

SRINAGAR, June 28: Governor N. N. Vohra, today visited Dastageer Sahib shrine at Khanyar and saw himself the irreparable damage to the shrine caused by the fire incident of 25th June.
While expressing deep sadness over this most unfortunate fire incident, the Governor hoped that well planned work will commence very early to restore this revered and historical shrine to its pristine glory.
Interacting with Sajada Nashin, at the latter’s residence, the Governor expressed relief that the holy relics kept in this shrine are safe and secure.
A. H. Samoon, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, M. Y. Qadri, Vice Chairman, Muslim Wakf Board, Khalid Hassan Geelani, Sajada Nashin of the Shrine, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, S. A. H. Bukhari, SSP, Srinagar, and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
