Governor’s rule

        I
Sir,
This is in reference to the article ‘Governor’s Rule putting popular Govt to test’ by K B Jandial. I too am convinced the Governor’s rule is better, less expensive and more efficient. The administration is responsive and quick. Money which would have been spent on so called public representative was saved.

Sir,
With multiple major decisions taken, pending due to political and cheap popularity, expectations of public have soared. I was particularly moved with the announcement of Panchayat elections Jhelum dredging, FSA, compensation to flood victims, amicable conduct of meeting on airport etc. More important was constant monitoring by his team which public saw clearly.
I fear if the political class will allow the intended delivery.
I also feel Mehbooba has lost support bank in valley due to her indecisiveness, more so, lack of self confidence to rule.

Sir,
This has reference to the article “Governor’s file puts ‘popular’ Govt to test”, published in this paper. I truly agree with your points and as a resident of J&K do wonder why Mr Vohra’s rule is coming to an end.

Sir,
Governor N N Vohra’s rule in the State will be remembered for administrative  efficiency, accountability and sincerity to public cause.
People in the State would love to have it for some more time, but  have to be content with constitutional provisions which entail people’s Government. The new despensation should learn a lesson or two from the Governor’s brief rule. A Government is installed for redressing the grievances and not for enjoying power and pelf.
