Govt adopting inhuman approach towards border residents: PDP

R S PURA, Oct 16: Expressing grave concern over prevailing situation on the International Border (IB) due to continues firing, PDP general secretary and MLC Yash Pal Sharma today lambasted State Government for not taking effective steps to provide relief to the families affected by the heavy shelling in the border areas.
Addressing series of public meetings at R S Pura and Simbal areas, he regretted that State Government was inhuman towards this human problem of border residents. “It is duty of the Centre and State Government to provide security and shelter to the border residents but it is very unfortunate that nothing has been done to provide shelters to the border residents in case of shelling”, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, PDP vice president Trilok Singh Bajwa asked the State Government to fulfill its promise of providing free six months ration to the affected families. He also asked the State Government to make arrangement of fodder for the cattle of border residents.
PDP candidate for R S Pura, Bhushan Dogra, Suresh Raina, Santokh Singh, Sagar Gill, Ajit Singh, Krishan Lal Lehri and others also spoke on the occasion.
