Srinagar, Mar 24: The Government today permitted in-service candidates to participate in the JKAS Mains exam starting from March 26.
A communication from the General Administration Department (GAD) has been sent to all Deputy Commissioners, Senior Superintendents of Police, and Heads of Departments across J&K, directing them to allow in-service candidates to appear in the J&K CCE (Mains).
“Representations have been received from various in-service candidates who are not being granted leave to appear in the Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2023, scheduled from March 26, 2024, to April 3, 2024, due to their engagement in various assignments, including election-related duties,” the letter stated.
The matter, the GAD said, has been examined and it has been desired to advise all the Deputy Commissioners/SSPs and HoDs to allow the in-service candidates wishing to appear in the examination, subject to sanction of leave.
“Accordingly, I am directed to request you to kindly permit the in-service candidates, working under your administrative control, to appear in the Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination-2023, which is scheduled from 26.03.2024 to 03.04.2024.”
Earlier, Excelsior had reported the matter, highlighting a precarious situation faced by the candidates. The aspirants were demanding the rescheduling of the examination, or the appropriate measures that could facilitate their appearance in the examination.
