Dr Jitendra adopts Adeeba

JAMMU, July 3: Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh has adopted the three year old Adeeba a girl child who was only survivor among the five members of her family in ill-fated Kishtwar road accident yesterday.
The decision to adopt the girl child was communicated by Dr Jitendra Singh’s staff led by Bharat Sharma to authorities here, today. The Union Minister’s staff had visited the Government Medical College Hospital on his directives to enquire about the injured undergoing treatment there. Sharma on behalf of Dr Jitendra Singh also informed the Hospital administration that in case any patient needed to be shifted to AIIMS or PGI they should inform them and the Government will make all arrangements for the same.
Dr Jitendra Singh while talking to Excelsior said that he will adopt the girl child for treatment and future upbringing. He said that he has conveyed the Divisional Commissioner about the same.
It may be recalled that Dr Jitendra Singh has been adopting destitute diabetic children since 1996 and first one such child adopted by him was Somraj from Kishtwar who is now married and was working as a salesman in Jammu and earning his living honourably.
Dr Jitendra Singh has been providing free Insulin for treatment to orphan children adopted by him.
Meanwhile State Government has announced a monthly stipend of Rs 1200 to the girl up to her age of 15 years. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma said the order in this regard was today issued on the directives of Governor, Satya Paul Malik and on the intervention of Union Minster, Dr Jitendra Singh who is also MP from the Parliamentary Constituency of Udhampur, Kathua and Doda.
The Government also handed over a cheque of Rs two lakh to the uncle of the girl through secretary Red Cross Society who was also accompanied by Bharat Sharma the personnel staff member of Dr Jitendra Singh at his Jammu Parliamentary Constituency Office.
