JAMMU, Dec 22: The Law and Justice Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir today appointed new Law officers/ Standing Counsels to seek their services in the Supreme Court and the J&K and Ladakh High Court.
Official sources said that senior advocate, Parth Awasthi has been appointed as Additional Standing Counsel to assist the J&K Legal team in the Supreme Court of India.
Senior Advocate, Ranjit Singh Jamwal has been appointed as Additional Advocate General; Parimoksh Seth, Hunar Gupta and Dewakar Sharma as Deputy Advocate Generals while Sumeet Bhatia and Eishaan Dadhichi as Government Advocates in the Jammu Wing of the J&K and Ladakh High Court.
Mohd Yousuf Bhat has been appointed as Senior Additional Advocate General, Satinder Singh Kala as Additional Advocate General, Avtar Singh Sodhi as Deputy Advocate General while Muzaffar Ahmed Kirmani, Illyas Nazir Laway, Rekha Wangnoo and Insha Haroon as Government Advocates for the Srinagar Wing of the J&K and Ladakh High Court.
Advocates, Monika Thakur, Chetna Manhas, Nisha Kangotra, Ojesvi Sharma and Pallavi Sharma have been appointed as Assistant Councils for the Jammu Wing of the J&K and Ladakh High Court. The Advocates who have been granted extension as Assistant Counsels in the Jammu and Srinagar wings of the J&K High Court are-Sanchit Sharma, Palvi Sharma, Divya Ojesvi (Jammu Wing); Insha Rashid, Afrooza Hassan, Saba Gulzar and Nida Banday (Sgr Wing).
Meanwhile, the Government has accepted the resignations of Senior Advocate General, H A Siddiqui, Additional Advocate General FA Natnoo and Aseem Sawhney; Deputy Advocate General Ayjaz Lone and Government Advocate Jamrodh Singh deployed in the Jammu Wing of the J&K and Ladakh High Court and Senior Additional Advocate General Bashir Ahmed Dar, Additional Advocate General Shah Amir and Mir Suhail, earlier appointed for Srinagar Wing of the J&K High Court.
