Govt approves transfer of 200 Kanal land for Bandipora Housing Colony

Srinagar, Apr 23: Government has approved the transfer of 200 kanals of state land in estate Watagora Tehsil of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district to the Housing and Urban Development Department for the establishment of a housing colony or flatted accommodation.
The Government Order, No. 54-JK (Rev) of 2023, was issued on April 17, 2023, by the Financial Commissioner (Revenue) of Jammu and Kashmir, read: “Sanction is hereby accorded to the transfer of state land measuring 200 kanals of land under Survey No. 1673 in estate Watapora, Tehsil of District Bandipora, in favour of the Housing and Urban Development Department for the establishment of a housing colony or flatted accommodation.
The order stated that the transfer is subject to several conditions, including the land being used only for the intended purpose and obtaining all necessary permissions for construction from the competent authority.
The Government also emphasised that the transferred land cannot be diverted for any other purpose without the prior approval of the competent authority.
“Any unutilized portion of the land may be retrieved by the Government if required for any other purpose. The responsibility to comply with the directions of the Hon’ble High Court of J&K or any other competent authority with regard to the usage of the land lies with the user department,” it reads.
