JAMMU, Apr 22: The acti-vists of Jammu West Assembly Movement have alleged that the ration was not supplied at CAPD depots for the last three months and black-marketing of the ration by the CAPD staff has increased and at the same time the department has also cancelled large number of genuine ration cards.
The protest demonstration was led by JWAM president Sunil Dimple against the Union Food and Supply Ministry for providing wheat instead of atta to the people, while no kerosene oil, no sugar etc was being supplied and held that proper implementation of the NFS Bill was not being made in the State.
Dimple alleged that under NFSA a large number of genuine ration cards have been cancelled and not issued to the genuine consumers who are permanent residents and were having life- long ration cards. Dimple appealed the people not to lift the wheat from the ration depots.
Dimple demanded 10 kg atta per member to each family, as 7 kg per member is not sufficient and all the ration card holders of BPL, APL families should get the benefit of the Food Security Bill. He alleged no kerosene oil is being supplied on the depots for the last three months and the quantity of oil has also been reduced, from 5 litres to 3 litres per ration card.
Dimple demanded for the inclusion of edible oil, sugar, salt, pulses, vegetables, LPG and kerosene oil in the NFSA from the State Govt side.
