JAMMU, May 3: Congress, NPP and several other organization have favoured `tit for tat’ response to the Pakistan army for the beheading of two Indian soldiers in Mankote area of Poonch sector near Line of Control.
The District Congress Committee (Urban) Jammu under the leadership of its president Anil Chopra held a strong protest demonstration at Shaheedi Chowk here today against the Pakistan for its cowardice and barbaric act of beheading two Indian soldiers yesterday, after entering into Indian territory.
Hundreds of Congress workers carrying placards in their hands assembled at Shaheedi Chowk, amidst chanting slogans against Pakistan and burnt the effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief.
Speaking on the occasion Anil Chopra said that this cowardice act of Pakistan is not at all acceptable to anyone in this country and all civilized societies in the world. He criticized Modi led NDA Govt for taking lightly the security of the country and said that the people of this country are keenly watching the response of the Modi Government.
Prominent among those who participated in the protest included Kanta Bhan PCC vice president, Krishan Lal Gupta, BB Gupta, Madan Lal Malagar, BS Mastana, PS Chouhan, Ch Sukhdev Singh, Ram Parkash Magotra, Rachpal Singh, Sunil Kumar, Kulbushan Sharma, Naresh Maini, Chanchal Popli, Gourav Chopra, Jyoti Vaid and others.
Peeved over the dastardly misadventures of Pakistan both on the borders as well as in Kashmir, NPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh today observed that the Union Govt must feel the pulse of the nation and give free hand to the Army to deal with external and internal threats. He said that killing the Indian soldiers and mauling their bodies had sparked nationwide outrage with country asking for retributive strikes. He said that with passions inflamed across the nation, time had come to respond befittingly to Pakistan hostility by allowing our intrepid heroic Army to reply the hostile neighbour in the language it understands.
Accusing BJP of faking nationalism, Singh regretted that it had tied the hands of Army after coming to power with categoric instructions to Armed forces from both the Central and State Govts to exercise restraint in the face of even gravest of provocations.
Senior BJP leader Vibodh Gupta (MLC) while addressing people at Muradpur in Rajouri launched scathing attack on Pakistan following mutilation of two Indian soldiers by Pakistan Border Action Team in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch. He termed it as an extreme form of barbarism and the armed forces will react to it appropriately. This is a reprehensible and an inhuman act. Such attacks don’t happen even during a war. The sacrifice of these soldiers will not go in vain and India army will give a befitting reply to Pakistan for its inhuman act. It is definitely an act of frustration, Gupta added.
In order to pay homage to the martyred Army and BSF personnel besides five police and two J&K Bank security personnel who attained martyrdom for the nation, J and K Freedom Fighters’ Association (JKFFA) held a `Shardhanjali programme’ at Dogra Shaurya Stamb, Amphalla, here today.
The programme was organised by the president of the Association Ved Gandotra wherein S Gajan Singh Khajuria, president of J&K Motor Transport Company Association was the chief guest. The members remembered the martyrs by observing two minutes silence in their honour.
They expressed their solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the eternal peace of departed souls. They also condemned the role of the separatist leaders and pro-Pakistan elements who were misguiding the local youth and working against the nation.
The prominent who participated included Rajiv Mahajan, State president Shri Ram Sena, Pritam Sharma, president Kranti Dal, Raj Kumar Tyagi, Prabhat Kapahi and Rajinder Singh.
Condemning the dastardly inhuman act of killing and beheading Indian soldiers by Pakistani BAT at Krishnaghati after intruding into the Indian territory, Jammu Province People Forum has urged the `Centre’ to retaliate and avenge in the same coin besides taking immediate steps to declare Pakistan a rogue nation.
Addressing a meeting president Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj appealed the Prime Minster of India to be practical, teach lesson and give a befitting reply to Pakistan against beheading an Indian soldier as promised by him a number of times. History is witness that Pakistan will never mend her ways until a historic, stringent and unforgettable lesson is thrust upon her.
While offering heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families of martyred brave soldiers Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh and BSF Head Constable Prem Singh who sacrificed their lives for the nation members said that the entire nation is standing behind the martyrs and their families in this hour of grief. Two minute silence was observed with prayer for eternal peace to the departed souls.
Senior Congress leader and media coordinator Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Kapil Singh while paying tributes to martyrs of Poonch, Kashmir and Sukhma lashed out at the BJP led Central and State Government for creating uncertainty in the country wherein areas right from North-East to North of India have been badly disturbed. The situation, he said was never this worst that even Election Commission of India had to cancel election to just one Lok Sabha set in Jammu and Kashmir State.
Singh said it was unfortunate that Pakistani special forces team sneaked 250 metres across the Line of Control (LoC) into the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir and beheaded two Indian security personnel and mutilated their bodies. He said tall claims of BJP lead PM Narender Modi Government to have struck Pakistan in a surgical strike and demonetization aiming at demoralizing militants and nexalites proved hollow. These incidents in which five police personal of Kashmir were also gunned down speak of Government’s weak policies in tackling militancy in entire country.
Adarash Vihar Social Workers Society Jammu in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Balwant Singh and NS Mankotia strongly condemned the incident of beheading of Indian soldiers in Poonch and demanded appropriate retaliatory action on Pak army troops. They described it as most brutal and inhumane act on the part of Pak army.
