JAMMU, Jan 30: Governor N N Vohra today directed Chief Secretary BR Sharma to ban with immediate effect the engagement of any fresh casual or seasonal labourers in any Government Department or State owned Public Sector Undertakings.
Vohra issued the direction to Sharma in a meeting at Raj Bhawan this afternoon.
He also directed the Chief Secretary that process for regularization of eligible daily wagers and those engaged on contractual basis should be expedited and completed by March 1, 2016.
The issue of regularization of daily wagers and contractual workers has been hanging fire for the past quite some time now.
