JAMMU, May 31: Joint Action Committee of Reserved Categories (JACRC) has claimed that reserved categories were befooled by the government as promises made with them during 2014 and 2019 Parliamentary, ULB and Panchayat elections regarding extending of all constitutional guarantees meant for their welfare in J&K were not honoured.
In a press conference here today JACRC members claimed that J&K bureaucracy is hell bent upon damaging welfare schemes meant for SCs, STs and OBCs in J&K by creating hindrances for reservation in promotions.
They further said that Mandal Commission report still remains unimplemented in J&K.
Prof. G.L Thapa said, after sabotaging reservation in promotions, the bureaucracy in J&K has attacked reservation in direct recruitments also as there is no attempt to fill up the backlog vacancies and instead there is a game plan to start the reservation roster afresh thereby freezing all the backlog vacancies.
Mohinder Bhagat said that J&K bureaucracy do not care about rules favouring masses.
Sham Bassan urged upon the President of India to give clear direction to the J&K LG to stop hindrances in reservation in promotions for SCs and STs.
He further said that after August 15 they will organize protest in every district to aware masses about anti-SC, ST and OBC policies of the ruling government.
Bassan also said that the bureaucracy must implement the Presidential order of March 1, 2019 and J&K PSC as well as other recruitment agencies should be directed to amend anti-category mindset and they should not defy constitutional provisions meant for SCs and STs.
