JAMMU, Mar 19: The General Administration Department has once again clarified that transaction by a public servant with regard to acquisition or disposing of immovable property is required to be done with the permission of the prescribed authority.

“No public servant shall in his own name or in the name of any of his family member acquire or transfer any immovable property unless he has obtained permission in writing, from the prescribed authority,” read a GAD circular, quoting rule position governing the subject and Section 12 of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants Declaration of Assets and other Provisions Act 1983.
Reiterating that any such transaction is required to be done with the permission of the prescribed authority in terms of Section 2 & Section 12 of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants declaration of Assets and Other Provisions Act, 1983, GAD has impressed upon all the concerned authorities to adhere to the said rule position while dealing with such cases.
