Govt committed to improve road connectivity: Kavinder

JAMMU, July 12: Speaker of Legislative Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today toured different areas of his constituency and inaugurated various development works.
He was accompanied by the SDM, South, Sonu Pargal; BDO, Satwari, A K Khajuria; X-En, PWD(R&B), Mohammad Abdullah; AEE, PWD(R&B), Manoj Kumar and others.
The Speaker inaugurated the up-gradation of lane and drain at Shanti Vihar, Kunjwani and the funds for the same have been provided from his Constituency Development Fund.
He also laid the foundation stone for the blacktopping of Chatha-SKAUST road and reiterated that Government has taken up several projects to improve road network in all parts of the State which holds the key to socio economic development of the area.
He said that around Rs 5 crore have been earmarked for the development of road network in the Satwari block and the PWD (R&B) Department has been directed to complete this work in a stipulated time frame and the quality should not be compromised at any cost.
Stating that previous Congress led Government had ignored this area for the one or other reasons and only big claims of development were made, he said, “the quality of works during the present regime can be measured from the fact that the blacktopping works are being carried out with a guarantee rider of three years”.
He said that few people are engaged in misguiding the innocent people regarding various developmental projects and their execution. “It should be clear in everyone’s mind that all the development related works are being planned and carried out only on the direction of the Government”, he added.
