Govt committed to create employment avenues: Ganga

JAMMU, Jan 4: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga has said that the Government is committed to tap all possible avenues to create employment opportunities for local people.
The Minister stated this while chairing the 151st meeting of Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Industries Ltd, a J&K Government Undertaking here today.
The Board took a comprehensive review about the overall working of the Corporation and reviewed the progress of the various projects being undertaken by JK Industries in the State.
Mr. Ganga emphasized on proper utilization of human resource so that the overall production is increased which in turn would help in increasing the sale of JK Industries.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ganga enjoined upon the management of JK Industries to re-double their efforts towards making all the units of JKI more viable.
The Minister directed the officials of JKI to put sincere efforts in increasing the sale of units so that it will help in overall development of JK Industries.
While stressing on customer faith, Mr. Ganga said that commitment towards ensuring quality and timely supply/delivery of products is important in building customer trust which in turn would help JKI in realizing more revenue.
Referring to the measures taken by the Government for putting the Corporation back on rails, the Minister hoped that JKI would come out of its present situation and attain self reliance. He assured the management of full support from the government for revival of its units.
MD, JK Industries, Javid Iqbal informed the board that proposals have been submitted to undertake comprehensive modernization and upgradation schemes of JKI units and discussions have been held with the concerned Union Ministry for providing funds for the purpose.
