JAMMU, Apr 18: Reiterating the resolve of PDP-BJP Coalition Government to ensure assured delivery services at people’s doorstep, Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today said the Government is committed to the larger welfare of the people especially the downtrodden so that they can reap the benefits of the welfare programmes.
‘Government’s endeavour is to provide conducive atmosphere for comprehensive development,” he said while addressing public gathering at Gangyal here today.
Kavinder said a well conceived programme has been devised to address all public issues in a phased manner. He said provision of better healthcare, education, potable water and road connectivity are the priority sectors for the Government.
He sought people’s cooperation in implementing the schemes so that their benefits reach the needy. He urged people to maintain close liaison with the administration.
Meanwhile, people projected various demands pertaining to improvement in the drinking water supply, road connectivity, electricity besides construction of toilet complexes and other basic facilities.
Responding to the demands and grievances of the people, Kavinder assured that genuine issues would be considered and redressed in a time bound manner. He said all the departments dealing with essential services have been asked to gear up for better service delivery and evolve a mechanism for grievance redressal.
