JAMMU, Mar 15: The BJP led NDA Government at the Centre is committed to safeguard the interests of people of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and both Prime Minister and Home Minister have made it clear time and again.
This was said senior BJP leader and former MLA Bishnah, Ashwani Sharma while addressing public meeting in this border village of Arnia Sector.
He said that BJP Government is well aware of the concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir with respect to land, employment and other issues. Time and again Government has said that a domicile certificate will be issued to people of J&K which will safeguard their land and jobs. At an appropriate time this certificate will be issued as process has already begun, Sharma added.
He said that BJP Government scrapped the anti-people Article 370 which was a hindrance between people of J&K with rest of the country. “Scrapping Article 370 doesn’t mean that people of the erstwhile State will be left to suffer but a domicile certificate will give them the identity which they deserve and which is aimed at protecting their rights’’, he added.
On the issue of restoring the Statehood to J&K, the BJP leader said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah have assured the nation that once the situation is back to normal, Statehood will be given back to people of J&K. The Government has announced Delimitation Commission for J&K which will address the long pending demand of the people. Once it is completed and every region is given its due share, Statehood is expected to be given to J&K, which was clear in recent statement of the PM, he said.
Talking about the issues of border people, Ashwani Sharma said that Government is well aware of the safety and security of border dwellers. Whether it is the issue of providing high quality bunkers to border people or providing the compensation of land taken for fencing, Central Government has taken several steps which are showing their results on the ground. Already hundreds of bunkers have been constructed and construction of other bunkers is also in progress which will help the people to stay safe during shelling from across the border, Sharma added.
As far as compensation of the land is concerned, soon Government will address this issue as well and people will be given their due share he said, adding, many other issues of compensation of livestock killed and houses damaged in shelling are also being addressed.
