Govt constitutes Committee for monitoring Green Storage plan

JAMMU, Aug 16: The UT Government has constituted Committee for monitoring the implementation of World’s largest Grain Storage Plan in Cooperative Sector , revival of cooperatives banks in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and resolution of issues regarding repayment of loan raised from Housing & Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO).
Administrative Secretary , Finance Department will be the Chairman of the Committee while Administrative Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Administrative Secretary, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Administrative Secretary Cooperative Department, Chief General Manager NABARD J&K and Managing Director J&K, Grameen Bank will be its members.
The Committee has also been empowered to co-opt any other officer as its member in addition of other five members.
The order in this regard was issued by General Administrative Department (GAD) here, today. The Committee will monitor the implementation of scheme “World’s largest Grain Storage Plan in Cooperative Sector” and ensure its seamless integration with the existing policies/programmes at UT level.
It will also coordinate with the concerned stakeholders for resolution of issues that may arise during the implementation stage. The Committee will further examine and suggest a roadmap for the revival of Cooperative Banks in the Union Territory of J&K and workout modalities for repayment of loan raised by J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation (JKCHC) Ltd from HUDCO.
