Govt constitutes panels for inspection of unaided private colleges

JAMMU, June 3: Jammu and Kashmir Government today constituted committees for the inspection of unaided private colleges functioning in the UT for the session 2024-25 to monitor their academic performance.
Besides, the committees shall also conduct inspection for renewal of permission with respect to the colleges.
In Jammu division, the committee that will inspect private unaided colleges of Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts shall comprise of Principal GCW Parade, Jammu, Principal GDC Kathua, and one subject expert.
Similarly, for inspecting colleges in Poonch and Rajouri districts, the committee shall comprise of Principals of GDC Nowshera and Poonch and one subject expert. For colleges in Udhampur, Doda, Reasi, Ramban, and Kishtwar districts, the committee shall comprise of Principals of GDC Bhaderwah and Ramban and one subject expert.
For engineering colleges, the committee shall comprise of Principals of GCET Jammu, GGM Science College Jammu and two subject experts (HoDs) from GCET Jammu.
In Kashmir division, the committee that will inspect colleges in Srinagar, Budgam, and Ganderbal districts, shall comprise of Principals of SP College Srinagar and GDC Ganderbal with one subject expert.
The colleges in Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara districts shall be inspected by a committee comprising Principals of GDC Bandipora and Baramulla with one subject expert and the colleges in Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, and Kulgam shall be inspected by a committee comprising Principals of GDC Pulwama, Tral with one subject expert.
The engineering colleges in Kashmir division shall be inspected by a panel comprising Principals of GCET Safapora, Amar Singh College Srinagar and two subject experts (HoDs) from GCET Safapora.
As per the order, the senior most Principal of the committee shall function as chairperson of the committee.
As far as subject experts are concerned, in case of engineering colleges, they will be nominated by the Principals of the GCET Jammu and Safapora Srinagar. In case of B.Ed colleges, the subject experts shall be nominated by the Principal Colleges of Education Srinagar/ Jammu and in case of other colleges, they shall be nominated by the chairperson of the committee.
“These committees shall submit reports by giving specific recommendations within a period of one month from the date of the issuance of the order regarding their constitution on June 3, 2024,” ordered the Government.
