JAMMU, Feb 14: Govern-ment has constituted Special Environment Surveillance Task Force with Additional District Magistrate/ Additional Deputy Commissioner of concerned district as its chairman.
An order to this effect was issued by GAD here, today. As per order Deputy Superintendent of Police to be nominated by the Senior Superintendent of Police/ Superintendent of Police of concerned district as member. The other members will be District Officer State Pollution Control Board and one person to be nominated by district judge in his capacity as chairman of the Legal Services Authority on the pattern of direction issued by National Green Tribunal issued on August 7 last year.
The order further made it binding on the Task Force to ensure that no illegal mining takes place in the polluted stretches of such rivers identified in the State.
