Govt contemplating action against absconding doctors: Deputy CM

BILLAWAR, (KATHUA) June 27: Issuing a stern warning to doctors who don’t report  to their duties in rural and far-flung areas, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said that Government is contemplating action against them.
Addressing a mammoth public rally here, today in connection with completion of three years of Narendra Modi Government, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the services of those doctors will be terminated who go absconding and fail to join their duties in rural and far flung areas.
He said the issue has been taken up with the Health and Medical Education Minister, Bali Bhagat by him and these doctors will face action now as Government will not allow them to make people suffer.
Admitting that there was shortage of doctors in the rural areas, he said Ministry of Health and Medical Education has started a process and it will take action against those doctors who don’t join their services.
Making a scathing attack on Congress for misleading the people on district status issue to Billawar, Dr Singh said posting of Additional DC’s  in Billawar and Basholi has become a strong base for granting the district status to these twin tehsils of Kathua district.

He said when there can be small districts like Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama in Valley why can’t be Basholi and Billawar which have a huge area be the separate districts?
Without naming any body he said the previous Congress representative who was a Minister has totally failed to grant the district status to Billawar when new districts were created during their rule but now the Party and its leaders were misleading the people over this issue. “If they were so concerned then why did not they grant the district status to  Billawar during last 12 years of their rule instead of misleading the people now”, he added.
Turning tables on Congress, Dr Nirmal Singh held it responsible for present mess in Kashmir saying the only State which was dealt by the then Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru in 1947 became a problem while all the 550 princely states who were dealt by Sardar Patel merged with India without any hesitation.
Dr Nirmal Singh however said that Narendra Modi led Government has given a befitting reply to Pakistan shelling and even conducted surgical strikes to teach the enemy a lesson.
He, while allaying the fears of Billawar people asked them that they should trust the Party and its leaders. He said earlier it was only one development authority in three tehsils of Billawar, Basholi and Bani under the name Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority (LSDA) but the present Government bifurcated it into two and named the one as Billawar -Duggan Development Authority and other Basholi-Bani Development Authority.
Referring to Kashmir situation, he said militancy is on dying phase and 80 to 90 percent people in Kashmir are against it. They have killed their own people like Lt. Omar, DySP Ayub Pandit, SHO Dar and others with the result people of Valley have developed hatred against the terrorists and terrorism.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the Amarnath Yatra which is leaving for holy cave tomorrow will be give fool proof security as Government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) have made all arrangements for them.
Addressing the gathering general secretary BJP Dr Narinder Singh also turned tables on Congress and termed the previous UPA led by Dr Manmohan Singh was a scam tainted Government which perpetuated loot. He said there is not a single case of corruption against present Modi Government which is committed to the welfare of poor and downtrodden.  He said 400 properties of corrupt people have been seized by this Government so far. He also highlighted various public welfare policies of Modi Government.
Vice Chairman Kissan Development Board, Daljit Singh Chib and VC Backward Classes Development Board Rashpal Verma, BJP leader Narayan Dutt Tripathi and others also addressed the rally and highlighted the developmental agenda of the Government.
