Govt contemplating to open new food centers: Ramzan

SRINAGAR, Aug 28:  To provide ration facilities to the consumers at their doorsteps, Minister for CA&PD and Transport, Ch. Mohammad Ramzan today announced that Government is contemplating to open  new food centers across the State.
He said this would help the department to reach out the far off areas of the state and generate employment opportunities for the educated youth of the State.
The Minister said this while addressing in Food and Supply Employees Association conference in CA&PD office at Shaheed Gunj. The conference was attended by a large number of CA&PD employees from all across the Valley.
On the occasion, the MLA Nasir Aslam Wani was also present.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the employees of the concerned department are not only working in odd hours but they are also serving the people by mitigating their requirements not only in urban but in far flung and remote areas of the State.
Ch. Ramzan urged the employees to work with more devotion and dedication and keep the tempo of serving people with zeal in odd and crucial circumstances. He said that the employees of the concerned department despite facing a lot of challenges have to utilize their efforts for mitigating the problems of the people so that they may not face any more inconvenience in getting their ration well in time. He said that there are certain sections of the society who are wholly dependent on the Government ration.
Responding to the demands of the employees, the Minister said that the vacancies at district level have been referred to SSRB for filling the vacant post. Regarding promotions of the employees, the Minister said that after fulfilling the official procedures including vigilance clearance, the eligible employees would be promoted under rules.
On the occasion, Nasir Aslam Wani asked the Minister to consider the demands of the employees on priority basis.
Earlier, the members of Employees Association put forth their demands before the Minister and appealed for meeting their genuine demands as earlier as possible.
