Govt counters own claims on normalcy: Shiv Sena

JAMMU, Feb 19: Reacting to Central Government’s decision of postponing Panchayat by-elections in J&K, Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray J&K unit has said that Centre should clarify whether situation in J&K is normal or not.
Speaking at a meeting here today Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni claimed that Central Government decides situation in J&K as per its convenience.
He quoted Government notification of February 13 for Panchayat by-election wherein the authorities have claimed normal situation and yesterday’s notice to postpone elections citing security reasons.
Sahni said that the Government counters its own claims and added that perhaps Modi Government is looking for puppet leaders in Kashmir.
Shiv Sena leaders also paid floral tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary. Working Shiv Sena president, Ashwani Gupta; General Secretary, Vikas Bakshi; Vice President, Harsh Gupta; Secretary, Raj Singh, Raju Salaria, Mangu Ram and others were also present on the occasion.
