JAMMU, Sept 23: Sunil Prajapati, State president BJP OBC Morcha today complimented LG administration for exempting OBCs from getting certificates from Revenue Department.
Sunil Prajapati while addressing a press conference along with Raj Kumar Tarkhan State general secretary OBC Morcha and Rajesh Dogra State secretary of Morcha said this has relieved the people belonging to OBC category of a big problem.
Sunil Prajapati said the long pending demand of OBCs for exemption of revenue certificates.
He said Government itself admits that no such guidelines have any where enumerated ownership of land as a mandatory condition for issuance of caste certificate.
In light of the same, Government has clarified that the landless applicants shall produce an extract of electoral roll, Chullha-Bandi or Ration Card before the concerned authority.
Landless applicants in case of rural areas may also produce certificate from the local PRIs- Sarpanches, BDC/DDC members or chairpersons, certifying that beneficiary belongs to SC/OBC caste and his her ancestors were or are residing in this village.
In case of towns / urban areas certificate from the local corporator for SC/OBC Community that applicant’s ancestors belongs to SC/OBC Community and were or are residing in this place for a long period may also be produced.
After getting these certificates, the Naib Tehsildar concerned shall hold a camp enquiry to the effect and based on statement of Lambardar/ Chowkidar and other local members of the community, will submit detailed inquiry report within stipulated period to the competent authority i.e. Tehsildar concerned, for issuance of caste certificate.
